Magic 1548 is a free downloadable internet radio station that is stationed in the Liverpool area of England. It is a local commercial radio station running on radio wave frequency 1548 AM.
At first, Magic 1548 was created to serve the people of Merseyside but eventually it reach up to Flintshire, northern Denbighshire, Greater Wrexham and eastern Greater Conwy in Wales; northern Cheshire, some parts of Greater Manchester and south-western Lancashire in England.
Originally, this online radio channel was named 1548 City Talk and was running from 1989 up to 1991 between 7 in the morning up to 7 in the evening. However it was not a success and a “Gold” format was introduced. This radio channel was then renamed to Radio City Gold and then City Gold before becoming the most famous Magic 1548.
EMAP decided to buy this free internet radio channel and in December 2001 they merge it with other Magic AM radio station.
Eventually, like any other radio channel, Magic 1548 also entered the world of online radio. It can now be heard in various radio station toolbars. It now has millions of listeners scattered throughout the globe. During networked hours it airs local adverts as well as local and international news in an hourly interval.
For sports enthusiast out there this free downloadable radio station broadcast football games during weekends so basically they are playing a holistic type of playlist program making it one of the most in demand radio channel in the market.
